What / Why :
Bang Nam Pueng Market is not very far from Bangkok. This place is called Bang Nam Pueng Floating Market in Samut Prakarn Province, which lies 30 kilometers south of Bangkok. Bang Nam Pueng Floating Market has been founded under the initiative of Samut Prakarn Provincial Administration Organization and the locals in the area. Initially, the site was built to sell various agricultural goods. However, the scope has expanded, and the area has then become a floating market. Various goods are being sold on boats, while many other products, including the OTOP products, are being sold in numerous of stalls at the market.

Varieties of plants, local goods, seafood, and fruits such as coconuts and mangos are being sold in the market’s stalls. As for the OTOP items, buyers can purchase flowers, fish scales, or the local herbal joss sticks of Tambon Bang Nam .

However, the highlight of this floating marketplace is of course the merchants who sell various products on their boats. Tourists will be able to enjoy the marine scenery and the natural environment. Many species of fish can be seen here as well.

Other interesting activities here include riding a bicycle in a fruit orchard, having a foot massage, cooking Thai desserts, and taking part in homestay tourism.
